If you read the previous post you will understand why at Christ Lutheran Church we traffic only in Scripture, do commerce only in the Holy Bible's Holy Words.

We hear things that richly bless us merely by virtue of being in the room as they are articulated. But the Word of God never stops at the ears, but from the ear it enters the heart and remakes us, and fits us, for the exalted life we will live eternally in of God.

Every word spoken is a Divine Word. Nor are there gimmicks, lest they should detract from the Elevated Word here administered. There is no worldly welcome given to begin. No "awe-shucks, howz everybody doin' today?" 

None of this is acceptable, none needed for the unique event known as Divine Liturgy. But the Word works as Luther wrote: "I simply taught, preached, and wrote God’s Word; otherwise I did nothing. And while I slept, or drank Wittenberg beer with my friends Philip and Amsdorf, the Word so greatly weakened the papacy that no prince or emperor ever inflicted such losses upon it. I did nothing; the Word did everything.”
