Christmas Day Eucharist. The word "Christmas" is a contraction of Christ Mass. It refers to the Mass or Eucharist celebrated on Christmas Day. A recent mantra in this age of commercialized Christmas is: Put Christ Back In Christmas. But in the rationlistic, pietistic, anti-sacramental age in which we live we might just as well add: Put the Mass Back In Christmas.
